The Langford Allergy team cares about your health during this uncertain time. The following are the precautionary measures we are taking to ensure the highest level of safety possible during the COVID-19 pandemic:
Handwashing Stations at All Locations
Unapologetically, we encourage you to wash your hands even more than usual during this pandemic. Many people are getting COVID-19 because they touch a surface that has the virus on it, such as door handles or gas pumps. Please wash your hands before you enter Langford Allergy and when you leave. We are sanitizing doorknobs and rooms regularly to eliminate any germs.
Employee Self-Quarantine if Needed
We have implemented a 10-day, self-quarantine for any employee who has traveled internationally. If one of the Langford Allergy employees has tested positive for COVID-19, an indefinite self-quarantine will be issued.
Allergy Shot Waiting Period
If you’ve received an allergy shot after 2pm, you can stay in your car for the waiting period. For us to allow you to do this, you must show us you have an epinephrine auto injector on hand.
Additionally, if you’d like to wait in your car after signing in, you can do so. Please leave your cellphone number on the sign-in sheet so a team member can call or text you to come inside when we’re ready for you.
Stay Home if You’re Sick
We are encouraging all patients to stay home if you are experiencing an abnormal cough or have a fever. The fever, especially, could be a sign of COVID-19. If you’ve been exposed to the virus or feel sick, please call us to reschedule or ask us questions.
Asthmatic Protocols
No nebulizers will be offered in our office at this time. We have a limited supply of albuterol inhalers, and we ask any asthmatic to bring your rescue inhaler with you to your visit. In general, it’s especially important to take your medications as usual, especially for asthma and immunodeficiency.
Precautionary Measures Taken Internally
Our team will not congregate regularly. We will be practicing social distancing as deemed possible and wash our hands every 15 minutes. The leadership team will meet daily to assess this pandemic and implement further precautionary measures.
Social Distancing Will Help Us Beat this Pandemic
Please take social distancing and handwashing seriously, as these two elements will greatly stop the spread of the virus. This effort by our community will give our healthcare system a fighting chance to get us all through this crisis. Any of our patients with questions should call us and ask for a nurse callback.
A Statement from Dr. Langford
“If you’re reading this, you’ve taken an interest in not only your own family’s health, but that of our community. Good job. We’ll do everything we can to continue to offer world-class allergy, asthma, and immunology care as a responsibility to our patients, our staff, and our state.
Our changes in procedures are focusing on the two core recommendations that we’re all reading about: lay low and wash your hands. We will continue to help our patients and health system by limiting disease/flares while limiting pandemic risk…to the best of our ability. Our staff is committed to this effort, as well. Prayers for all. Please call us if you have any questions. You’ll get a call back.”
