Sonia Mathew, M.D.

Sonia Mathew, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained allergist and immunologist who joined Langford Allergy in 2023. She sees patients of all ages at our Macon office.

Dr. Mathew loves seeing both children and adults and helping them improve their quality of life. She enjoys addressing the concerns parents have and helping their children get their allergies and immunologic conditions under better control so they can achieve their fullest potential. It’s her mission to get to know her patients and discover the cause of their bothersome symptoms so that they can work towards healing and getting back to doing the things they enjoy.

Education and Experience

Originally from Gwinnett County, Georgia, Dr. Mathew attended Mercer University, double majoring in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and Psychology. She then went on to attend Mercer University School of Medicine wherein she earned her M.D. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO, and later completed her fellowship in Allergy & Immunology at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL.

Dr. Mathew is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatric/Adult Allergy & Immunology. She is also a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.

Outside the Office

Dr. Mathew loves being back home in Georgia and feels grateful to be able to give back to the community where she attended both college and medical school. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors, and taking road trips to the Gulf and southeastern coasts.
