Contact the Teachers

No one wants to feel like they’re overstepping or being “that mom.” However, if you don’t contact your child’s teacher and inform them about your child’s allergy, it could have harmful repercussions. The more your child’s teacher knows, the better! That way, if anything were to happen, the teacher would be prepared and know exactly what to do.

Answer All Questions

Allergies may seem overwhelming or confusing to someone who has never experienced an allergic reaction before. Allow  you are talking to ask questions. Answer them as thoroughly and as honestly as possible! If you’re not sure what the answer is, call us and we will be more than happy to help you. Knowledge is key to safety.

Request Helpful Allergy Awareness Resources

Classrooms are always decorated with educational resources and helpful topics. Information about allergies should be one of them! Request helpful resources that will inform the students and teacher alike of what allergies are and what to do if someone is suffering from an allergic reaction.

Explain Information to Your Child

Your child should know as much as he can about his allergy. When he knows what to avoid or what to expect if the allergen is present, he will be able to respond appropriately. If an allergic reaction is happening, that is the wrong moment to try to figure out what to do. Explain everything you can about your child’s allergy so the proper action can take place.
